Mr Rob Hogarth – Chairman, PR Exploration Pty LtdR_Hogarth.png - small

BEc (Accounting and Business Law), FCA

Rob has a degree in Economics specialising in Accounting and Business Law and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Australia).

 

Rob was a partner with KPMG for 27 years leading their Energy and Natural Resources and Major Projects Advisory Practices. He was also a lead partner for KPMG's mining clients working with large and small companies in the Asia Pacific region.

 

Rob retired from KPMG in 2009 and is currently Chairman of PR Exploration Pty Ltd as well as Director of a number of other private and listed companies. Rob is also an experienced audit and risk practitioner and member of a number of audit committees.

 


 

Mr John Cook – Executive DirectorJ_Cook.png - small

BSc (Geology) (Mineralogy & Sedimentology)

John has a degree in Geology from Auckland University New Zealand specialising in Mineralogy and Sedimentology. On graduation he worked for 2 years as a geologist/chemist for Webb Refineries Ltd, a processor of clays, sands and mineral fillers in Henderson, Auckland. He then joined BHP Billiton in Australia where he spent 15 years in Coal, Iron ore, Uranium, Manganese (as Chief Geologist Groote Eylandt Mining company Ltd.), Phosphate, Base Metals and Gold (in New Zealand) and later headed up BHP’s Coal Exploration Division which explored opportunities across Australia and Asia. He has held several senior executive positions in the mining industry in a career that spans 40 years.

 

In 1990, John established a company which provided coal advice to companies in Asia, including the public listed company, Banpu Public Company of Thailand. During this time Banpu expanded its operations to Indonesia, Australia, Vietnam and China and it production increased from 0.5 million tonnes to 15 million tonnes per annum. More recently, John assisted Banpu expand into Australia through its acquisition of the ASX-listed Centennial Coal Limited.

 

In 1997, John co-founded Asia Energy Corporation which acquired the Phulbari project in Bangladesh and was later listed in the UK. John presently serves as the Executive Director of a group of affiliate companies that held projects across SE Asia, Middle East and New Zealand.

 


 

Ms Julie Hall – Executive DirectorJ_Hall.png - small

BSc (1st Class Hon, Geology), Dip CD, GDip Financial Planning, ASIA, SFCDA, MAICD, Fellow AusIMM

Julie has an honours degree (1st class) in Science (Geology) specialising in Sedimentology and a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, and is a qualified Director having attained a Diploma in Corporate Director.

 

Julie has over 30 years in the exploration and mining industry working with BHP from 1982 until the mid 1990s starting as a project geologist and later as a Regional Manager for exploration in SE Asia. She finished her career with BHP as the Manager of Strategy for Industrial Minerals based in the USA.

 

Julie has extensive experience in Project Development and Project Management and was instrumental in setting up agreements and managing projects with companies and governments in Australia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Thailand and Vietnam. Since leaving BHP, Julie became a co-founder of Asia Energy and has become an active Board member on a number of private and listed companies including a director on the Board of the Singapore listed Sakari Resources with revenue exceeding US$1 billion.

 

She is also a co-founder and executive director of FEE Pty Ltd where she is involved in the corporate management of the company as well as the technical guidance of its exploration projects in SE Asia.

 


 

Mr Deric Banh – General Manager (Business & Corporate)D_Banh.png - small

BA, BComm, GDip Business (Banking and Finance), MFinPlan

Deric has a commerce and finance background with a degree in Arts majoring in Asian economic history and a degree in Commerce majoring in strategic management. He has also completed a Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance and holds a Master of Financial Planning. Deric joined the National Australia Bank’s investment and custodial division after graduating where he worked on the bank’s international corporate actions accounts, and later helped develop its fixed interest and bond income department.

 

In 2005, he joined a national financial planning firm now known as Shadforths where he worked as a technical adviser providing advice and policies for the group’s network of financial planners and then as a senior project adviser conducting business analysis and providing project advice to senior management.

 

Since 2008, Deric has worked for PR Exploration and is responsible for conducting business and economic assessment of coal projects and mines for the company and was part of the team that advised Banpu Public Company on its A$2.4 billion takeover of Centennial Coal where he created the financial modelling and valuation for the transaction.

BSc (Hons) Geology and Chemistry, PhD (Geology)

Peter has a PhD in Geology and extensive knowledge of all facets of geology, sedimentology and basin analysis, exploration, reserve calculation, geophysics, mining, mine planning, technical training, coal preparation, coal testing, coal bed methane, transportation, utilisation and financial analysis in his 40 years career working in the Australian and International coal industries.

 

Peter spent over 10 years in a number of BHP underground mines where he was in charge of Coal Quality and Geological Services. He was involved in a number of major expansion projects including the installation of longwalls and a new washery. In the following years Peter was involved in coal exploration projects with BHP across Europe and Russia and later in Asia including Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

 

Upon leaving BHP, Peter worked as the Principal Geologist for Asia Energy Corporation on the Bangladesh project and subsequently spent a number of years based out of Kalimantan on a number of large coal exploration programs. Peter is presently the Principal Geologist for PR Exploration and is also the Exploration Manager for the sister company FEE Pty Ltd’s Brunei project.

 


 

Mr Maito Hutagalung – Exploration Manager

Bachelor of Geological Engineering

Maito is a qualified geologist with more than 17 years of experience and instrumental in leading the team of geologist on the Brunei project since its inception. He has extensive experience leading PR Exploration’s technical program staff on its projects including the successful program in Malaysia as the Exploration Manager on the drilling, geological and geophysical logging, surveying, sampling and quality work.

 

Maito has a solid knowledge of the geology of Borneo built up from many years of work in the region and is a highly respected team leader.

 


 

Mr Gunawan Prabowo – Exploration Planning Manager

Bachelor of Geological Engineering

Gunawan is a qualified geologist with 15 years of experience which includes working on the Brunei project since its inception. He works closely with the Exploration Manager in preparing and scheduling field mapping and drilling programs and has intimate knowledge  of operational planning including critical planning in logistics, staffing scheduling, environmental management, OH&S and field communications.

 

Gunawan has extensive experience working in Brunei, Sarawak, New Zealand and Kalimantan and have been instrumental in PR Exploration’s success in managing and meeting project schedules in Malaysia.
